Help my students if you can/Aidez mes étudiants si vous pouvez

LE FRANCAIS SUIT

Hi everyone,

My last appeal for support for my students in Burundi dates back to a little over a year ago. Since then, we have received a boxful of headphones from Spain as well as recorders, microphones and cameras from the US, Switzerland and Canada (thanks notably to a Spanish tour company, a radio DJ in Montréal and four individual donors in four different countries). We also received money to buy a small laptop computer. All in all, we were able to collect over $1000 worth of equipment and hand it off during a beautiful little ceremony in August in Bujumbura.  I can’t thank you all enough.

However, we are hoping for your help again. During the Christmas holidays, one of the team members signed out the laptop and took it to Rwanda on assignment. While he and his colleague were attending midnight mass, the house they were staying in was broken into and the laptop stolen, along with the wallets and identity documents of the two young men.

We are currently looking for a gently used, discounted laptop to replace it. If you have a laptop (Mac or Windows) that you would be willing to sell us at a low price or to donate, please contact me directly (irenepratka1@gmail.com). Thank you in advance.

Additionally, one young woman in particular is looking for a scholarship to study communication at an American or Canadian university. If you know of such a scholarship, please be so kind as to post a link in the comments field below.
